Blocking

 

Similar to using custom-cut short lengths of dimensional lumber as bracing in wood framing, cold-formed sheet metal blocking also prevents rotation of studs and joists but with even greater convenience and dimensional accuracy. Blocking can also be used to provide superior shear and pullout strength for handrails, large TVs, shelving, and other high demand wall fixtures.
