Product Description

This ClarkDietrich Backer Bar is a great choice for attaching heavy items to interior partition walls. The patented geometry provides the superior shear and pullout strength needed for handrails, shelves and other wall fixtures. Many building projects require solutions for attaching heavy products and accessories to interior curtain/partition walls. This backer bar performs excellently in both non-structural and structural studs. Examples of common applications for backer bars include wall-mounted TVs, load-bearing handrails or grab bars, towel bars, and cabinets or shelving. Installation: Bend the center tab along slotted holes inward so that it lays flush against the outer face of the metal stud web when installed. On the other end of the Backer Bar, bend the small tabs along the slotted holes outward to lay flush against the inner face of the metal stud web when installed. Secure the Backer Bar to the metal studs with (5) #8 wafer head/pan head screws at pre-punched holes into the stud flange.
