Product Description

EasyClip™ U-Series™ Clip Angles are used to secure U-channel to wall studs for lateral bridging or in miscellaneous rigid connections. U-channel is passed through the stud knockout, and an EasyClip™ U-Series™ clip is attached using screws or by welding to create a rigid connection. These clips are pre-punched for improved fastener placement accuracy. EasyClip™ U-Series™ clips are designed to streamline installation. Note that U-Series™ clip angles and U-channel should not be used in bridging applications when the stud width exceeds 8". Installation: Insert the U-Channel into the stud punchout (as specified by design) and rotate it into position. Attach the U-Series clip angles horizontally to the outside or hard side of the cold-formed steel (CFS) framing members. Make sure that the clip is securely seated against the web of the U-channel and is not more than 1/4" less than the cold-formed framing member. Fasten the U-Series clips using #10 (minimum) self-drilling screws by driving through the clip holes and into the steel framing. Alternatively, clips may be welded to the CFS framing.
