Product Description

TradeReady® structural blocking is the third component of the TradeReady® steel floor system. Pre-cut to fit snugly between the undersides of floor joists, it effectively prevents joist rotation. This blocking offers a quick and efficient alternative to cross bracing, X-bracing, or strapping. Designed for economic efficiency, TradeReady® structural blocking includes pre-punched holes for rapid attachment. A continuous row of blocking should be installed every 8' on center maximum and staggered for easier attachment. Caution: to prevent joist rolling, make sure the structural blocking is tied into the structure or otherwise braced against lateral movement. Note: Structural blocking is not necessary if sheathing is applied to both the top and bottom of the joists. Installation: A continuous row of TradeReady structural blocking should be installed every 8' o.c. maximum and staggered for easier attachment. The blocking is secured to each joist flange using two #10 screws at each end.
