The H10AZ variation of the H10A Hurricane Tie features a ZMAX coating. The Simpson Strong-Tie H10A Hurricane Tie offers a robust solution for high uplift applications, securing rafters or trusses on both sides. Its U-shaped design provides faster installation compared to single-sided ties, while embossments add strength where needed most. With optional fastener holes for roof blocking and slots allowing up to a 6:12 pitch for angled blocking, the H10A is versatile and efficient. The H10A-2 model accommodates double-ply members, while the H10AR is ideal for rough lumber. These ties are manufactured from 18-gauge galvanized steel, and when installed to create a continuous load path they resist wind and seismic forces. Installation: To install the H10AZ Hurricane Tie, position the tie on both sides of the rafter or truss where it meets the top plate of the wall. Use the recommended fasteners, securing the tie in place to create a strong, continuous load path. The design also includes slots for field bending up to a maximum pitch of 6:12 to accommodate angled blocking. Follow all manufacturer guidelines and building codes to ensure proper installation for maximum wind and seismic resistance.
