Product Description

The Simpson Strong-Tie H11Z Hurricane Tie is designed to hold a rafter or truss on both sides for high lateral load resistance. The H11Z is specifically designed for 3x nominal lumber. The U-shaped design provides faster installation than using two single-sided ties. This tie primarily provides a connection between the truss or rafter and the wall of the structure that helps resist wind and seismic forces, but can also be used for a variety of connections where one member crosses another. The H11Z is made of 18 gauge steel and features a ZMAX® galvanized finish. Install the H11Z using all specified fasteners. Hurricane ties do not replace solid blocking. Avoid fastening through truss plates from behind to prevent performance issues.
