The Simpson Strong-Tie MST72 Medium Strap Tie offers a robust solution for resisting tension loads in floor-to-floor connections and other applications. This high-capacity strap features a dense nailing pattern and can be installed with either nails or bolts. Made from 10-gauge G90 galvanized steel, the MST is a load-rated. The precut strap design is optimized for quick installation and performance. It is suitable for connecting double 2x members or greater. The strap is designed to resist wind and seismic forces and can be used in conjunction with embedded purlin anchor (PA) straps for additional length. Installation: The MST72 strap tie is installed by aligning it with framing members and securing it with the recommended fasteners through the pre-punched holes. Be sure to use proper fastener placement and density for optimal performance.
