The Simpson Strong-Tie MSTA18SS Stainless Steel Medium Strap Tie is designed to resist tension loads in wood-to-wood applications. This medium strap tie is intended for use on the edge of 2x members, and utilizes a staggered nail pattern to help minimize wood splitting. The MSTA, commonly used in floor-to-floor clear span applications, is load-rated and precut for quick installation and optimal performance. This strap is designed to resist wind and seismic forces. Manufactured with 18 ga. stainless steel. Installation: The MSTA strap tie is installed by aligning it with framing members and securing it with the recommended fasteners through the pre-punched holes. Be sure to use proper fastener placement and density for optimal performance.
