Product Description
The FUS Fixed Universal Slip Clips are offered in standard lengths of 6" and 8” in 12ga and 10ga, making them suitable for medium to larger standoff conditions. These clips facilitate quick installation and provide adjustable standoff to ensure a vertical wall plane alignment. For deflection applications, each FUS clip comes with proprietary heavy-duty deflection screws to ensure smooth and friction-free sliding. These are universal clips factory pre-punched for either rigid attachment or vertical deflection attachment. U.S. Patent No. 11,905,700 Installation: 1- Connections to the building structure can be established using screws, welds, or powder-actuated fasteners (PAF). Mechanical fasteners should be precisely located on the embossed marks along the scored line of the 2" flange. 2- Follow the manufacturer’s instructions for attaching building anchors to the structure, ensuring they are installed through the embossments on the scored line of the clip. Anchors should not be installed more than 3/4" from the bend on the short leg of the clip. 3- In case of discrepancies between this installation information and the Design Engineer’s details, the latter should be followed. 4- For a rigid connection: Attach the clip to cold-formed steel framing using eight #12 self-tapping screws (not included) for the FUS6 clip and ten #12 self-drilling screws (not included) for the FUS8 clip through the pre-punched clip holes into the steel framing. For a rigid connection, screws should not be installed in any of the slotted holes. 5- For a Deflection Connection: Attach the clip to cold-formed steel framing members using the included #14 heavy duty deflection screws through the slotted holes. Position the screws in the slot for the appropriate building deflection. For the FUS6 clip all slotted holes should have a screw. For the FUS8 clip the two outer slotted holes and the two stacked slotted holes must have screws. For deflection connections screws should not be installed in any unslotted holes.
