ClarkDietrich Fast Top™ Clips are versatile components used in head-of-wall deflection scenarios for both exterior curtain walls and interior, non-load-bearing walls. These clips facilitate vertical movement either independently or when used in conjunction with deflection track. These clips offer a secure attachment without the need for continuous bridging throughout the uppermost punchouts. Fast Top™ Clips can be attached to the underside of structural members, concrete decks, or floor assemblies. By cutting studs to less than full height, these clips allow for vertical movement of up to 2-1/2" (1-1/4" up and 1-1/4" down). Installation to the building structure is swift using welds, screws, or powder-actuated fasteners, and the inclusion of FastClip™ deflection screws for attachment to the cold formed framing ensures smooth and frictionless vertical deflection. Additionally, these clips are embossed with fastening patterns to ensure accurate placement of fasteners. U.S. Patent No. 6,688,069 Installation: 1- Building connections can be established using screws, powder-actuated fasteners, drill-in concrete anchors, or welding. 2- Ensure that mechanical fasteners are evenly spaced along the scored line of the 1.5" flange. 3- When referring to manufacturer published tabulated allowable loads, follow the table notes for connecting to the building structure. 4- FastClip™ deflection screws are used to attach the clip to cold-formed steel framing, ensuring proper building deflection. Quanitity of screws required depends on the clip model: two FastClip deflection screws are needed with FTC3, three with FTC5, and four with FTC8, FTC10, and FTC12.
