ClarkDietrich FS24 FAST STRUT™ 24" x 4" x 1-1/2" x 68mils (14ga) (box of 10)
ClarkDietrich FS24 FAST STRUT™ 24" x 4" x 1-1/2" x 68mils (14ga) (box of 10)
Product Description
The ClarkDietrich Fast Strut™ curtain-wall connector employs innovative Fast Clip™ technology for attaching curtain-wall studs. It excels in large stand-off conditions and offers versatility with standard lengths of 12-1/4" and 15-1/4", as well as custom lengths of up to 24" to accommodate framing attachment well beyond the structural steel perimeter or in scenarios where spandrel beams are set back from the structure's edge. Struts are securely attached to the underside of structural members using screws, welds, or powder-actuated fasteners, ensuring a robust connection. Each strut includes proprietary Deflection Screws to facilitate smooth and friction-free vertical deflection (1-1/4" up and 1-1/4" down) independent from the primary building structure. Additionally, FS12 and FS15 variants are embossed with fastening patterns to ensure precise placement of fasteners for optimal performance. U.S. Patent No. 6,688,069 Building connections can be established using screws, powder-actuated fasteners, drill-in concrete anchors, or welding. For mechanical fasteners, ensure they are evenly spaced along the scored line of the 2" flange. The strut should engage the building structure by at least 4 inches. When referring to manufacturer published tabulated allowable loads, adhere to the table notes for connecting to the building structure. To attach the strut to cold-formed steel framing, utilize three FastClip™ Deflection screws. Drive the screws through the slotted holes, positioning them appropriately to accommodate the required building deflection.
