Product Description
EXTENDED FastClip™ Slide Clip™ (FCEC) deflection clips are engineered to secure exterior curtain wall studs to building structures, accommodating vertical building movement independent of cold-formed steel framing. These clips allow for vertical building movement up to 3". This series of clips are available in standard lengths of 6", 8”, 10”, and 12”, making them ideal for medium to large standoff conditions. EXTENDED FastClips quickly install using screws, welds, or powder-actuated fasteners, with adjustable standoff for a plumb wall plane. The clips include necessary FastClip™ Deflection Screws for friction-free sliding. The FastClip system meets Intertek CCRR-0208 standards and complies with the 2021, 2018, and 2015 International Building Code® (IBC) and International Residential Code® (IRC), as well as the 2020 Florida Building Code and 2022, 2019 California Building Code. U.S. Patent No. 6,688,069 Installation: 1- Attach to the building using screws, welds, powder-actuated fasteners, or drill-in concrete anchors. 2- Place mechanical fasteners on embossed marks along the scored line of the 1-7/8" flange. Attach building anchors according to the manufacturer’s instructions. 3- Ensure anchors are installed through the embossments on the scored line, and not more than 3/4" from the bend on the short leg of the clip. 4- Follow the Design Engineer’s details if discrepancies arise between this information and their specifications. 5- Use three FastClip™ Deflection Screws to attach the clip to the cold-formed steel framing. Ensure screws are driven through the slotted holes and properly positioned to accommodate the necessary building deflection.
