Product Description

TradeReady Floor Joist Blocking is a primary component in the TradeReady floor bracing system. The pre-punched center hole in this blocking accommodates plumbing, electrical, HVAC, sprinkler system runs, etc. TradeReady Blocking is factory cut and formed for a secure fit between floor joists, which helps to prevent your joists from rotating. Pre-punched holes in the connection legs also make attachment to floor joists quick and efficient. This floor joist blocking is often used in combination with a full row of TradeReady Structural Bridging (TDSB) that ties the floor system to the structure. This allows bracing against lateral movement. Installing blocking not only helps prevent joist rotation, but also aids with load distribution, and can even help reduce noise transmission by adding mass and preventing movement of framing members. Installation: Place the notched end of the TradeReady Blocking inside the open side of one floor joist. Attach each end of the TradeReady Blocking to each floor joist with (2) #10-16 screws using the pre-punched holes.
