Product Description

The Simpson Strong-Tie S/HDS holdown series is engineered for high-load shearwalls, braced-wall panels, and lateral applications. S/HDS model is designed for installation with screw attachment to post/column member, see S/HDB for bolted version. The holdowns feature a unique seat design that minimizes deflection under heavy loads. These holdowns can be installed directly on the bottom track or raised above it. These holdowns are suitable for back-to-back stud applications where eccentricity is a concern. Simpson Strong-Tie gray-painted finish. S/HD15S is made of 10 gauge (118 mil) material and pre-punched with screw holes. Installation: Prepunched holes for installation convenience. Use all specified fasteners. Anchor bolt washers are not required. Boundary members, such as back-to-back studs, must be designed by the project engineer. Can be welded per designer's specification.
