Product Description

The Simpson Strong-Tie PPB66-4Z Porch 6x6 Post Base for 4" slab thickness streamlines the construction process with its innovative design. It allows permanent porch framing in one go, eliminating the need for temporary vertical supports. This unique post base uses Titen Turbo masonry screws to secure the footing, enabling concrete pouring without disrupting the porch frame and still providing full access for installers and inspectors. With its stiffened side stirrups, it temporarily withstands vertical construction loads before being embedded in concrete, minimizing schedule disruptions and reducing return visits for framers. This base features a ZMAX coating for corrosion protection. Installation: Locate the PPB66-4Z post base on the footing as specified in framing plans, secure using two Titen Turbo screws (sold separately- 1/4" dia. x 1 1/4" long hex-head). Maintain at least 1-1/2" distance from edge of concrete. Attach post to base using (12) 0.148" dia. x 3" long nails. After framing, concrete is poured up to the bottom of the standoff base, versions for both 4" and 6" slab thicknesses are available.
