Product Description

The Simpson Strong-Tie PBV6PC 6" Diameter Powder Coated Post Base is a hidden standoff base designed specifically for Viga posts, offering a clean and secure way to anchor large wood posts to concrete. With its Powder Coat finish, the PBV6PC provides strong resistance to corrosion, ensuring long-lasting durability. Its hidden design allows for an unobstructed, aesthetically pleasing finish while providing secure connection. Note that post bases do not provide adequate resistance to prevent posts from rotating about the base. Not recommended for installations without top support (fences, unbraced carports, etc). Installation: Post Subassembly- Drill 3/4" hole to 10" depth in center of post, clean out dust, fill hole halfway with Simpson Strong-Tie SET-3G epoxy anchoring adhesive. Insert all-thread rod while twisting the rod. Allow epoxy to set and cure. Secure standoff to post using 4 Strong-Drive SDS Connector Screws (sold separately). Concrete- Drill a 3/4" hole in concrete at least 4-3/4" from edge. Clean out dust and fill hole halfway with Simpson Strong-Tie SET-3G, ET-3G or AT-3G anchoring adhesive. Insert post subassembly into hole, and allow epoxy to set and cure.
